Andrew has spent many years as a researcher, librarian and storyteller, his BA double major is in History and Religious Studies. Andrew holds a certificate in Te Reo Māori and Library & Information Science. His blind mother taught him the power of narrative from a very early age. He has visited over 50 nations working with different cultural groups and indigenous peoples to help them record their stories and their histories. Andrew has worked with people in extreme poverty and who have suffered the terrible consequences of colonisation. He has seen social injustice first hand and has a passion to ensure that everyone's voice is heard, nowhere is this more important than inside the criminal justice system. Andrew believes that by sharing our culture, we discover the humanity that joins us all, and the differences that make us unique.
