Areej Arif is a registered psychologist with broad experience across the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors. She holds a BA in Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology, a Master of Arts in Psychology, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Psychology Practice. She completed her training through Massey University and Victoria University of Wellington and has been registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board since 2019.

 

Areej has worked extensively with children, adolescents, and adults, delivering psychological therapy, educational and neuropsychological assessments, and culturally responsive support. Her practice is grounded in a holistic and client-centred approach, tailored to the unique needs of each individual and their wider context.

 

Originally from Iraq and fluent in both Arabic and English, Areej is particularly passionate about improving access to psychological services for ethnic communities, immigrants, and refugees. Her work reflects a deep commitment to equity, cultural sensitivity, and meaningful outcomes for the people she serves.
