Misty was educated at marae, hapū and iwi base level in Te Reo Māori, Tikanga and Kawa. She has over 18 years of study and work experience ranging in areas of marae development, land research, politics, youth work, teaching and Māori laws and philosophy. She strongly believes that the value systems within all cultures serves to provide positive outcomes and solutions for those seeking a better pathway moving forward in life. Finding the courage to accept responsibility for any harm inflicted or received is the first step to restore any relationship. Misty supports all those in need by utilising the cultural philosophies of her ancestors based on balance with nature, people and oneself.
